Rescue.co was founded (2016) from the recognized need that emergency response must be accessible to everyone. At the time, the average response time in Nairobi was 162 minutes (in comparison, in New York, this is only 18 minutes), and in most parts of Kenya outside urban areas, it could take days. The first hour, dubbed the “golden hour” of care, can make all the difference.
Today, rescue.co has completed tens of thousands of rescue missions, and response time is counted in minutes not hours. Rescue.co has solved the ‘golden hour’ problem with its technology, network approach, and human excellence. It now provides medical response - both ground ambulances and air evacuation, as well as roadside assistance, including towing, recovery, and security.
Rescue’s technology Flare is built for first responders of any kind. An ambulance driver, security officer, towing provider or helicopter pilot, our technology brings together first responder services with those in need. Rescue.co works with an in-house and incredibly intelligent end-to-end computer-aided dispatch system that manages an emergency from start to finish ensuring that every step is closely monitored, and the right response is always dispatched.
Rescue.co doesn’t operate its own fleet but partners with qualified aircraft, ambulances, and roadside rescue teams in the region. This strategic advantage allows us to dispatch the closest and most suitable responders for each incident, ensuring that traffic, long distances, hard to access areas or simultaneous emergencies never stand in the way of swift and effective care.
At Rescue.co, our commitment to human excellence is unmatched. We ensure that every responder is highly trained and certified, working seamlessly within our integrated approach to rescues. With access to a full spectrum of resources—from aircraft to ambulances and roadside assistance—our expert dispatch team, along with on-call doctors and medical staff, delivers immediate, over-the-phone guidance, ensuring the best possible care in every situation.
